80% of Optimizers Believe They Will Face Traffic Loss After Site Migration
SEO specialist N. Mott conducted a survey on the social network Twitter with nearly 1,400 participants. The results showed that almost 80% of respondents expect a significant drop in incoming traffic following a site migration, while about 22% of optimizers think the traffic and site visits will remain stable.
A representative from Search Engine Roundtable, Barry Schwartz, provided a commentary on this matter. He believes that within the first week, traffic losses are almost guaranteed, thus the expectations of the 22% surveyed are not realistic. However, if the site migration is done with quality, then the traffic loss will be insignificant, and more importantly, the metrics will return to normal in a short period. Nonetheless, a period of turbulence will still need to be endured.
