Google Demonstrates ‘People Also Ask’ Block Multiple Times on a Page

At the beginning of spring 2022, some users in the USA and other Western countries noticed unusual actions from the Google search engine. It turned out that the search engine began offering users the ‘People Also Ask’ (PAA) block multiple times on a single page.

Mordy Oberstein, the head of SEO branding at Wix, as well as Australian SEO consultant Brodie Clark, shared posts with screenshots of search results on their Twitter profiles. According to them, the PAA block duplicates on the page several times.

Barry Schwartz, editor of Search Engine Roundtable, published a news article noting that without official statements, it’s impossible to definitively assess such actions by Google. This may be either a test of an unannounced feature or just a regular system glitch.

It’s worth noting that in January of this year, Shopify’s SEO Director Kevin Indig conducted a study showing that the frequency of PAA blocks appearing on search pages is 10 times higher than the display of ‘Featured Snippets’.
