Ways to Speed Up the Indexing of New Pages in Google
Among specialists working in the SEO field, sending new URLs for indexing is quite a popular issue. There is still no effective way to force Google to index new URLs, though everyone wants it very much and is willing to do anything to achieve it.
Recently, SEO specialists have been actively experimenting with both known and completely new methods to speed up the indexing of URLs. The reason for this is Google’s very slow response.
Options for forcing Google to conduct more active indexing of a newly created URL or repeatedly crawling an already existing page have recently been presented for public review by Jim Boykin and Ann Smarty.
Before you start prompting Google, it is necessary to carefully study how web page indexing occurs in search engines. This can be done using one of the following methods:
- Using the URL Inspection tool in Google Search Console.
- Using the site or inurl operator.
- Checking the cache in search results.
A situation may arise where one and the same URL is indexed using one method, but cannot be found with another. The reason for this is likely that Google extracts data from several databases, and in some of them, the sought address has not yet been added at the time of the search.
If the URL has not been indexed, there is no need to worry. It is essential to understand that everything is working smoothly and prolonged indexing is considered normal. At least, that’s what Google reports.
There are several ways to make Google conduct more active indexing of a newly minted URL, and it’s better to use all of them at once. Here is a list of these methods:
- Open the webpage in Chrome.
- Create a link to the page in a social network.
- Place a link to the page in the main section of the web resource.
- Select the part of your site that is well-indexed and establish a connection with the new URL.
- Find a link from a site conducting similar activities.
- Attach the link to the webpage in a fresh blog publication.
- Load the URL into Mobile-Friendly to check.
- Submit your webpage in GSC for URL testing and request indexing.
Google specialist John Mueller once said that external links compel Google to accelerate the process of indexing new content. Of course, you can send requests for URL indexing to Google using the Search Console. However, more benefit will come from reaching an agreement with other web resource owners to place links on them to the necessary pages.
